Dear First Selectman Sheehy and Sheila,
Late yesterday, the DPUC denied Sound View's January 31, 2007 request for an extension of time to February 28, 2007 for Sound View and Woodbridge to conclude a government access schedule policy. The DPUC Alternative Dispute Resolution department will be contacting Woodbridge and Sound View and hold the hearing at the DPUC.
I believe Woodbridge and Sound View can accomplish a mutually acceptable Agreement by February 28, and we are ready to address this at this time.

I wouldn't read too much into the DPUC denial for extention. It actually doesn't hurt SV at all.
All it does it put the decision back into the hands of the Department sooner. This way they can force
the towns to settle sooner, which weakens the towns bargaining strength. Also with all the conspiracy
theories going around, it makes the DPUC look as if it's taking a tough stand on SV. If you ask me, this sounds
like a scheme hatched up between the DPUC and Tom C. ALL BEWARE... IT IS OUR RIGHT NOT TO
SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS THAN WHAT IS FAIR... "

"This is my take on this. SV is well aware of the hearing on Tuesday regarding the bill to allow towns to control what is seen on their government specific channel. It seems to me that this is an attempt to force a decision BEFORE any bill can be passed by the legislature. I think that this proves without question that SV has a much too friendly ear at the DPUC. And, I doubt very much that any dispute mediation process would go in our favor. What does Joe Crisco think of this? I think we should make sure that he, and Themis knows what is about to happen and we should ask their advice -- specifically on what the timing is for the bill to be brought to the floor (if in fact it gets to the floor)."
